Lesson hard learned.

So for a few weeks I have been feeling under the weather and finding it hard to concentrate, nausea, tiredness. All sorts of oddities. Honestly at the time it felt like something in my brain was melting away. I had no idea what was wrong with me and time with even my beautiful daughter suffered. I'd sleep for hours and then be wide awake come 4 am. I was losing it.

My friends were calling me on Skype, telling me I looked sad and tired. Even my family in the UK. Why did I look sad?

I have a couple of food allergies, nothing major and nothing I normally worry about too much, so when my skin had rashes starting I thought little of it. Of course being a blonde in red-head's clothing I didn't even think to link the two. It was only when the rashes turned into weeping sores running up both my arms and hands that I really started to panic.

So I took a few days off, really to collect my thoughts and think about some medical intervention. I even discussed perhaps rehoming my two kittens.. which broke my heart!

It was only, however, when I went back to work I realized the whole thing kicked back up. I will admit there was some facepalming, there was even a lot of headesking. How could I have been so blind to what this was doing to my body!?

IT WAS THE EPOXY RESIN!

Now don't get me wrong, there are a lot of warnings on those little bottles of doom, but I had thought like many do.. OOooh I am sure that is nothing! I'm sure that if some immune slack person uses the damn stuff and wants to sue the company. How wrong I was.

So please, please, please... if you are just starting out working with such chemicals or have done for a while now, USE the gloves, if you can even use a mask to sheild your breathing from these chemicals. They are so dangerous to your wellbeing.

Lesson learned... do not ever lose respect for your working materials. It's not worth the terrible feelings or complications these things can produce for you. I am STILL recovering from these sores even now, 2 weeks later!
