Role Play of the Seas

Octun
The majestic Octun are themselves a sign of the dying sea breeds and tribes in the vast waters of the Ocean. Where they do not tend to share a lot of the characteristics of merfolk they are indeed a great part of them.
Sometimes they may be called stoic and other such names for their sometimes relatively cold mannerisms. Though this may be confused with saying they lack emotion.. they are far from that.
The Octun are the guardians of the seas, but their emotion is so grounded within the Ocean itself that it is influenced with the motions of the tides. Of course by this their mood can be calculated in much the same as the garou in terms of the moon. Brightwaters will feel their rage when the moon is full whereas the Dimwaters are much more active in the half face of Luna. Finally where this is true for the prior, the Darkwaters feel their rage and strength come to them within the times of the sheltered dark skies and eclipse.
Where that is all true of them this once proud and vibrant race with all the colors of the living reefs have now been shadowed by the travesty they see all around.
The cold blues, deep coloured shades and greys that now replace the once vibrant rainbow hues are a physical manifestation of the sorrow they feel in ever swell, every swish of the currents and every scream of sealife drawn in by the fisher's nets.
The Octurne are dying, much as their mother oceans are, once plentiful and majestic in their power they are now part crippled and lethargic, some living only to reproduce, seldom speaking and seldom socializing longer than it takes to find a mate... It is a known fact that the mother Octun, like the octopus will spawn one brood and die, sealed into her crypt hatchery.
The Octurn are losing their reputation as the guardians of the ocean, the species first to rally to her distresses, in these days of looming death, the will of most is broken. They seldom stray far from where they were born as the will to search for a cure has been taken from far too many of them. Even amongst the merfolk it is known that to see an Octurn traveller is rare and pair near impossible.

Mer Form: The Octun have the differences between them and the other merfolk, a big part of this is the fact they do not have the singular fish like the tail the others do, instead they have the long tentacles that are characteristic of their Octopus breathren. They are now known to have dark inky shades of colour wrapping their bodies instead of the bright rainbow hues of days long gone. In homid forms, whilst sultry and beautiful in their own regard, their hair will normally have at least a couple of wellkept dreadlocks or braids.
Organization: The Octun once had a high council of 8 that would stand in the waters of sunken cities to pass their rule and law, however as with most things with this dying tribes, it has not been known of these 8 powerful Octuns to have met for some thousand turns of the moon and tide. Leaving them with the lingering further feeling of loss.
Habitat / Protectorate: The Octuns are normally found in deeper waters and sunken reefs, they have not been known to travel the unsea until recent years and turns of the tides. They will make their homes where they may gather the most darkness in the deep water.
