Role Play of the Seas

Merfolk Forms
The Merfolk have different forms much like the other shifters of the world. There are four main forms that the merfolk will adopt depending on circumstances around them or the many trials that they will face. Below is an explaination for each of these forms, they are by no means gentle, the Merfolk are all forces of nature in their own ways.
Piscine
The sea creature form of the merfolk, this will be the true form of your sea self. For example like with the Lupus of the Garou you are purely the creature you were before your shift or what you became from a homid. This will be a fish like form or an octopus for the Octun tribe. It is something to carefully consider. For example the Rusalka will be long dark fish that move through the waves in their mysterious manner, whereas the Pearl Weepers are normal lighter colored fish that shimmer in the shallows of the dockyards. Triton on the other hand are normally shelled creatures and mollusc forms.
Hybrid
Hybrid form is almost self explainatory, usually they have the lower half of their bodies in the traditional sense of a long fish tail to the waist, humanoid at the upper. It does not mean however that they look like the 'Little Mermaid' though the Rusalka and Pearl Weepers are a similar concept to this in their own ways. A lot of merfolk will have different skin colourations depending on their fish like forms, for example they may be greenish or blue, some like the 'Weepers' may be pale and silvery, whereas the Octun will have a long tentacles that fall from their waist down. Hybrid form is the classical depiction of a merfolk. Make sure to describe what yours look like. Do they have gills or even spiney growths from areas of their body, is their long hair more like dreadlocked tentacles of their own or perhaps they have no hair at all. As a player you have creative license with this to the degree of appearence. However as statistics go you will gain a +4 Physical in this form (Agile, Ferocious, Graceful & Resiliant) We also however gain the negative social traits Bestial and Eerie.
Nereid
This form is the war form of the Merfolk, their bodies becoming musclar and large, their fish like appendages gaining size and strength with the rage filled forms of battle. The traditional fish tailed merfolk are able to stand on their long tails almost like a serpent rather than just a fish making this also a ferocious form on the Unsea and land. Octuns however may stand on their many strong and fierce tentacles. They all however gain long vicious fangs and claws ready to spill blood of their enemies and opponents. This form fills others with fear and will give the merfolk a standing advantage when the enemy first lies sight on them. The Merfolk will have horrific features in this form, including spines and dark veins through their skins. As stats go however you recieve a +8 Physicals (Brutal x2, Quick x2, Ferocious x2 and Savage x2) you will also gain 2 natural armored health levels. It is due to this that Merfolk do not use other armor, including metals and leather. We are however at a disadvantage in the more sociable aspects as we will suffer a -4 social traits in this form.
Homid
In Homid we are other worldly and sometimes this works in our advantage and then other times it can single us out quite quickly to those with a good eye. Use the way we look carefully, after all surviving on the Unsea and land is no easy task. We are hunted down and killed for sport, besides what our own kinds will do if you become a Betweener. We are strange and myterious beauties in homid forms. Also due to the difference between land and sea we may move faster and more efficiently than other dirtwalkers. The drawback of this form comes with the high sun, the sunlight will burn our skins readily and as such we are normally found in darker places or we cover ourselves up with layers of clothing, including hoods and long coats, making sure our skins do not crack and peel under the sun's glare. As stats go we recieve a +2 Physical (Agile & Quick) but also a +2 Social bonus (Gorgeous & Alluring)
