The Killdare Family

Perhaps the most central family of the Hounds of Hell, The Killdares made up the majority of the hardcore members of the Sept and the MC. Descended from the tales of legends held deep within the Fenrir, life started off for the MC in the dirt trail just outside of Modesto California under the founding Alpha, John Killdare.

John Killdare wandered the world with a hidden story that would one day spill out to rule his existing days on the Sept and as his position. John held simple means at the time when the Hounds first set of on their trail. Only too proud to speak of his loyalty to Momma Rat and let all see him as a Bonegnawer, hiding the truth and his heritage to one of the most powerful families of old.

John had 3 of his children with him at the time, twin Garou boys, Lucas and Logan and the daughter he told everyone was his own, Eva, a Glasswalker Kinfolk. The Two boys had followed their father's footsteps into the bonegnawers blissfully unaware of what was just around the corner.

John had done all he could to hide some horrific truths from his children, but of course with most secrets it did not take long for this to change. In the early days he had with him an old friend, a secret keeper for him, in the form of Desiree Chapman, Desi was an aunt figure to the boys and had known their mother who had died many years before, though this at the time was thought to be innocent. It was only as the attacks from the Banes came that more and more John felt his story starting to pull free and whispers soon covered the sept of something 'not being right' with the Killdares.

Desiree had announced only days before that she was pregnant, with John. It inflared anger from John's children. He had been a single father for many many years and for him to simply jump into bed with an old friend was for the children an insult. However as the weeks passed the children accepted their new siblings in the making and things once again had settled. John could breath a slow sigh of relief, but of course this was short lived.

On a simple spirit mission some time afterwards, a few of the young garou had been going to the fenrir shard in the high artic, a haunt for the powerful Theurge,Imogen Ranarson, The wolf had spoken of his lost son and growled at his 'cowardice' with how John had hidden. Of course as with most things this was not going to be let go. Too many people truly scared with just what the strong alpha had hidden from them.

John had to come clean, though this pained him greatly, admitting to his family and sept that indeed he had been Fenrir, brought up under a father who shared his own Auspice but had reached the levels of Legend within the Tribe. Though not for the best of reasons.

John watched as Desi, pregnant with his twin boys, left for her family home in Colorado, leaving him alone and with some of his sept furious with him. But as the days passed more and more of the strange and sad tale of his past flooded the sept.

John had been born and brought up in the Norweigian Caern of Fenris Jaw. A feeding Sept to great Isensol Temple and Stronghold of the Get of Fenris. His father none other than one of the powerful Garou who now was hunting them all down with his twisted and terrifying huge pack named 'Thor's Few' Orkenthall Killdare.

Besides the great enemy that stood before them, a horrific hit came to the family with the admittance that Eva, was actually not John's daughter at all. It of course came hand in hand with the truth of what had happened to their mother. There was no passing away in her sleep, nor from complications of Eva's birth. All of the lies were now being ripped open.

Cassidy Killdare, John's wife and mother to Lucas, Logan and Eva had in fact been attacked by John's villianous and wicked father, she in turn had concieved Eva from Orkenthrall's torture of her and rape. Eva quickly spiralled out of control, heading into the depths of the praxis held by hunters. She was soon a furious and fiery young woman with a terrifyingly loose grip on her moral compass. Especially with her being newly married to a Fenrir Ahroun named Fredrick Mahn, and also a mother to a small Wendigo boy named Clay Killdare.

John however battled on to try and reclaim his falling family and with victory over the 'Thor's Few' at the great battle of Isensol, he managed this but it was truly never the same again.

Orkenthrall's death came at heavy losses and heavily held alliances that were strained from that day forth. John made the choice in order to thank many who had helped them and also Fenris who had shielded them, to return to his post as one of the Fenrir. It was heavily paid for, however, Lucas Killdare, John's eldest decided to accompany his father and found his place set for him within the tribe, never having left it again.

With the ever increasing trouble from Logan and his misdemeanors, to Eva's apparent repeated attempts at 'suicide' John was starting to lose his grip once more all too quickly. Finding it hard to comfort Lucas as his kinfolk died, murdered by forces Eva had been closely friends with, John watched his eldest son suffering the effects of being forced into his single dad status. The repeat of history caused massive rift between the survivors of such a terrible situation. But through it, the Killdares had grown once more with the presence of baby Kai Killdare.

Fredrick had basically turned his time between battling as one of the hardest men of the Hounds of Hell and trying with desperation to save his young and troubled wife from the fate she apparently wished for. Doing everything from bargaining for her life to trying to clamp down on her flights into battle, but of course as with most of the family, the fire burned in the young woman, horrifically torn up and in agony she could no longer express.

However, with their marriage, Eva did manage to calm just long enough to give birth to a son, John Valir Mahn, named after Killdare but also an old ancestor of Fredrick's and nicknamed 'JV'.

JV hailed a new turn for the family as the spirits soon swept down upon them, the little newborn a  strange child from the beginning, if only the Killdares had known the significance of the child from his birth, there may have been less flowing blood when the end days came.

But with the madness of spirits around and with her ever increasingly difficult relationship with her husband, Eva left the Hounds of Hell to form a new faction of warriors, but this time not Garou, this time it would be the Kinfolk and the Awakened Hunters who would take up the sword in order to battle the wyrm where it dwelled. However it was during this time that the young woman found she was again pregnant with Fredrick. Her pregnancy this time however was marked with danger, no matter how hard she fought she found herself at the wrong end of the blades and once again she was fighting day in and day out not only for victory but against death.

The Hunters suffered great loss time and again, but this was now also the fates of the Garou Hounds who were still out on the roads. The Killdares were raging once more and John had vanished only to turn up in the belly of a wyrm tainted creature causing massive unrest and havok within the camp. While he recovered the title of Alpha had passed, with some terrible in-fighting, to Lucas. Lucas proved at first to be a strong Alpha, someone the Hounds now needed as the world around them was darkening.

Caerns and septs passed by as the Hounds continued their route through the southern states of America, finding bloodshed and terror wherever they turned. Nothing could relax for long and it was having heavy effects on the family. Logan himself leaving after one too many fights and for the birth of his daughter, Cass, named after their beloved and lost mother.

Eva and a number of the Hunters however returned to the Sept after she gave birth to a daughter, with harsh difficulty, Kara Eir Mahn. Her return however held heavily on the family as they once again could barely communicate between themselves. Making life increasingly difficult. Even with the spiritually guiding presence of ancestor, John's Grandfather, Oski Killdare.

The multiple battles brought fresh pain to the family, who from the histories it is clear could get little rest. However John did finally remarry to a widow of an old packmate, Michael Grey.

Sadina Killdare proved to be a strong presence to the kinfolk of the sept and with her and John's union more children were born to the family. Brienna Killdarecame on the same day that Eva managed to give birth to Kara. Brie and Kara shared a strong bond from the first time they were together. Sadina had been in the Northgard Fortress to have her daughter, due to the devastating battles that were taking place at the time. But with this she had found another newborn who had been saved from his dead mother's body. Alone in the world, Sadina adopted Shemus Killdare, to whom John took well to, proclaiming him his own son without strain.

Sadina and John finished off their family with the final birth of Tyius Killdare. But tragedy was just around the corner as the Banes came to claim the children of the sept. Where it took weeks to retrieve them from the clutches of the Hive that held them, it left Sadina and John devastated with the death of their baby daughter, Brienna.

Where this history is far intricate, the Killdares were joined by a young woman named Faith Killdare. A child John had concieved many years before with a woman he had known casually.

But also with the battles raging around them, he also suffered the loss of her too. Whilst this sorrow had massive impact, John could barely have a breath before his son, Logan, Lucas's twin brother was also found with his family, all of them brutalized. Logan pulled through but barely, his young wife and his two children however did not.

John fell quickly with the headstones not yet even in place of his 2 dead children, Harano came to claim him. No matter how hard he tried he could no longer keep his head above the waters.

Fredrick's death also came to hit Eva hard, only as the pair had began to reconcile. Eva was once more in danger as she battled those who had claimed her husband and ended up being hunted by the nation, narrowly being saved by the efforts of the strong Silver Fang Ahroun Zayne Morningkill, a widower himself at the hands of the banes and spirits they were having more and more difficulty in decyphering.

Eva and Zayne adopted two boys during their time as a married couple and she was later claimed temporarily as a Silver Fang.  Erick and Zachery Morningkill became part of the rest of Zayne's children in the Royal Caern of Edinburgh. The family had been close until Eva was once again left heartbroken as the two finally divorced once the threat to her life passed. The two boys however stayed with the Silver Fang family in the most part, Eva and Zayne still wanting what was best for their adoptive sons.

Lucas Killdare however also faced further heartbreak as he was engaged to Rachel Linstead, a Glasswalker, falling pregnant with twins, the couple had been overjoyed. But this quickly descended as a car accident had Rachel miscarry and misery set into the Ahroun as he watched what was to be his new family die around him. Rachel and Lucas tried their best to sort out their problems but as with war nothing could be saved apart from the at best civility between them. Rachel ending up married to the Alpha who would take over from Lucas, adding salt to the Fenrir's wounds. The Silver Fang, Amadeaus Torvold.

Where the Killdares are and have always been heavily held in their misery and sorrow, the family had managed to hold through some of the most terrible circumstances that the world of darkness could provide. Through heartbrake and divorce, to death and harano. The Killdares have been one of the most heavily active families within the Hounds of Hell's current saga. Their strengths of connection sometimes can aid either other, however it is regularly the case that the lack of commincation and sometimes lack of tact can drive this family into disarry easily.

Lucas and Logan have not joined John back on the road, but instead he has with him his daughters, Eva and Faith. But also in his joy and also to his concern, his young son JR (John Ryann) and Desi, his past partner have decided to take up the banner of the Hounds and travel the long road with him. He's still working out if this is a good thing.
